Filling and emptying system for silos (flat bottom)
A high capacity mechanical conveying system to transport grain to and from silos can be based on bucket elevators and chain conveyors.
A chain conveyor with side inlet is placed at the bottom of the grain pit. To reduce the depth of the pit, it is a good idea to install a horizontal conveyor at the bottom of the pit. It may be built longer without going too deep and still hold a high quantity of grain.
The chain conveyor delivers the grain into a bucket elevator lifting the grain into a horizontal chain conveyor on top of the siloes. The chain conveyors have outlets for each filling points on top of each silo. A horizontal conveyor transports the grain from the side of the silo, where the built-in emptying system delivers the grain to the bucket elevator inlet.
The conveying system may easily be expanded to handle more silos.
